Terms and Conditions for Booking the Party
Parties are held on the 2nd floor. As your guests arrive, we send them to the 2nd floor which is only available to those attending your party.
A moving stair chair is available for those children or adults who have difficulty with stairs.
We recommend the family hosting the party to arrive 30-45 minutes ahead of their party time to set up their room. The party host will be available 30-45 minutes ahead of your party time for set up.
The 2nd floor has a large room with plenty of space for games, group activities and seating for 70 at tables. The capacity for the 2nd floor rooms are a total of 70 adults and children. We have all the chairs and tables you will need.
We also have 4 children’s tables and chairs that seat 24.
The table sizes are (children’s) 24X48 and the regular tables are 30X96 and 30X72.
You plan and conduct your own party games.
Children and guests will return to the 1st floor (apparatus floor) and see the displays. When the children and adults are on the 1st floor, we will involve the children in “running” a hose line to a make-believe fire. Also, parents will be able to place their child on a “sliding pole” just like firefighters.
We give every child their own fire helmet as a gift.
We allocate 2 hours for all parties. This time period has proven to be more than adequate.
We provide a host who will help you with any assistance needed or related to our facility.
Food: The 2nd floor kitchen has a refrigerator / freezer which is available for your use.
You are required to bring your own food and party supplies. No alcohol/wine etc, is allowed. You will have use of a kitchen but limited to refrigerators for storing cake and drinks and sink for any clean‐up. We have available Ice for beverages.
Use of the stoves is not permitted. Past parties have enjoyed pizza delivered from one of the local pizza restaurants in South Boston.

Clean‐up: We expect Birthday party participants to make best efforts for clean‐up. We will provide trash barrels/ bags and kitchen has towels for table-top cleanup. We will sweep and empty the barrels.
Climate controlled: We have Air Conditioners (window units) on the second floor when needed. Heat is also available during the winter months.
Parking: We will give you a temporary permit allowing you to park your family vehicle behind the museum. When you arrive, see your host or hostess in the museum and secure the permit before you park your car. Farnsworth st is a tow zone unless you have the parking permit.
We can only give you one permit. Your guests can park at either a parking meter, or the parking garage located behind the museum @ 17 Farnsworth st. We suggest the parking garage. We are not liable for towed cars that do not follow procedure. For your guests, there is plenty of off-street meter parking, local parking garage and open pay parking lots in the area. **Special Needs Access (2nd floor): This very old 1891 historic building does NOT have elevator access to our second-floor private function rooms however, we do have an electric handicap chair lift for use.
We will try our best to accommodate all participants as a Firehouse Birthday can bring a lifetime memory to a small child on their special day. Please consider this when making a Birthday Party reservation for the children and parental guests.
Beverages: All alcoholic beverages are prohibited. All other beverages brought into the Boston Fire Museum must be within sealed containers.
Glass containers of any type are prohibited.

glitter as it is difficult to clean from the tables and floor. Bounce Houses are not permitted due to insurance regulations.
Cancellations: The Boston Fire Museum reserves the right to cancel or reschedule a party due to an emergency or unforeseen circumstances.
IMPORTANT – WE DO NOT MAKE “PENCIL” RESERVATIONS. WHEN YOU TELL US VIA EMAIL THAT YOU WISH TO BOOK A CERTAIN DATE AND TIME IT IS NOT A CONFIRMATION. WE DO NOT CONFIRM A RESERVATION BY ANY OTHER MEANS THAN EMAIL/WEBSITE
